Was told about yet another website which helps you meet up with people. Except that for this one, you get to meet people living near you (tries to give an exagerated *WOAH* at this point). Check out wholivesnearyou.com. I find it interesting how such things seem to be so popular. Think Friendster. Think Ecircles. Think SchoolFriends.

Hmm let me check it out before getting back to you.

But I'm just checked that most guys I "meet" online aren't really the ones I am looking for. indeed, many don't attain the minimum requirement I have for guys. I don't ask for much. Unless you think "speak good English that does not sting the ears" is much. Oh well I guess such engines need better screenings.

Hmm, sounds like an interesting concept. I wonder if it will reach the heights of popularity that Friendster once reached.

Hope I don't sound too cynical here, but is finding a friend who lives near you that big a plus point? Because S'pore is so small, it doesn't really matter that much where we live right? (unless of course, its like between Pasir Ris and Boon Lay...then there may be a bit of problem! )

Oh, but perhaps, think of it this way. You can arrange impromptu exercise, eating, 'exploring' sessions together in your neighbourhood.

Good point, insouciant. I guess living in the same district has its advantages. I have many friends who do stay in the east and very few who stay in the west (where I live), so when we want to meet up, I usually have to compromise and meet either in town or even in the east. It would be great to meet up in the west for a change!

I think it's a great concept. Imaging making lots of new friends who live near to you. Convenience is the key word here. No more hassle travelling from east to west.

Tried to access the wholivesnearyou website over the last few days but it seems like the site is down or something. My browser is unable to locate it. Did anyone else encounter this problem?

The adminstration has closed down the site temporary, in the midst of upgrading.
