A legacy, annual production and honorable tradition preserved since the late eighties.
A musical production put up by the graduating class of NUS Law School, Law IV showcases the untapped talents of the Year 4 batch through song and music, with the ultimate aim of giving back to society. This year, our two adopted charities are the Tan Ah Tah – SAWL Fund and the Gracehaven Children’s Home.
The Class of 2012 will be putting up three performances on the evenings of the 3rd, 4th and 5th of February 2012.
Tickets can be purchased online at www.lawiv.com or at our ticket booth outside Co-op at the NUS BTC Campus.
“Play Back Forward” tells the story of an old VHS movie rental store run by the two Lotus Sisters, who are former “Getai” sensations struggling to make ends meet in the 21st century. They are now banking on Jasmine, the daughter of the elder sister, to finish law school and start earning (more than) enough to support the family. But little do they know that the impressionable Jasmine longs to abandon her legal career and the Golden Lotus Video Store for a life like in the movies. What will the Sisters do now?
With a completely original plot, script and score, we’re proud to present a tongue-in-cheek musical with lovable and memorable characters that will make you laugh, swoon and cry (in a good way)!
Samantha Shing as Jasmine
