| "The plotline is mainly our scriptwriters (Eva and Kim)
ideas. According to Eva, it came to her during caffeine high while
researching non-Hodgkins lymphoma treatment options. Ahem. But
well for me, this production is really about the suspension of disbelief.
Sometimes reality just doesnt cut it, and you need to run away
into the world where NOTHING MAKES SENSE, so that you can somehow
figure things out your own way. And I hope people leave wishing that
they too had imaginary friends (I know I did. His name was Komdiar
and he was a monkey) !" - Shariza Bte Shari , 22, FASS Year
3, Creative producer. |
John always had a thing for the environment. As a newly appointed Valedictorian
of his faculty, John seems destined for a brilliant future. With the perfect
job opportunity and the perfect girlfriend, the perfect life seems to
be a stone's throw away.
John's carefully plotted path through life takes a sudden turn when an
unprecedented visit acts as a rude awakening to his forgotten past. An
imaginary friend he was sure he had left behind at the age of thirteen,
Alex, has decided to drop in to say "Hi". Only this time, she's
not alone. Accompanied by a whole ensemble of new and wacky characters
including a seductive cat lady and an imperial army general amongst many
others, these figments of his imagination threaten to turn his perfectly
ordered world upside down.
As John struggles to manage his newly found "friends" that
no one else but him can see, he desperately turns to the man who had helped
him once before, his experienced albeit unconventional psychiatrist, Dr
Erwitt.
Will he discover the reason behind their return? And can John get rid
of this motley bunch for good?

Eusoff Hall Dance Production has been the production to watch amongst
annual productions presented by halls of residences in NUS. Where other
halls stage either drama or dance concerts separately, Eusoff Hall has
managed to combine both!
"No mean feat, but this is the result of years of practice",
Creative Producer Shariza Bte Shari, 22, a year 3 undergraduate from Faulty
of Arts & Social Sciences proclaimed.
"We've recently started on original music compositions, and we will
try to incorporate other aspects like singing and who knows, one day we
will burst out a musical extravaganza, entirely student-run!" she
said.
Shari wants the wacky story line to leave everyone in stitches. Combined
with stellar choreography, this production is slated to make you leave
the UCC Hall on Kent Ridge truly tickled and content.
You see studious foreign scholars dancing centre-stage and army regulars sewing costumes as part of the wardrobe department.
You see beautiful set pieces, designed and constructed by undergraduates
who arrived not being able to differentiate between a screw and a nail
but somehow picked up some nifty skills along the way. You also have your
typical Chinese-speaking almost ah beng-material boys, dreaming
of a little bit of stardom, hamming it up for the very responsive audience,
or acting suave in impeccable English.
If you fancy of all the above plus a decent dose of half naked boys,
girls with hot bods and a hyper-active producer, attend the Eusoff Hall
production on 20 March 2008 at 7.30pm at the University Cultural Centre,
Hall at NUS. Tickets at 18 and $25 are available.
